Dear NRO Supporter,
It is my pleasure to report that the 2011 season was a spectacular one for your National Repertory Orchestra. The summer seemed to fly by, but the flight was wonderful. Artistically, the performances in the Riverwalk Center were fabulous. It would be impossible to say which evenings were best; they were all terrific. And we are delighted to tell you that attendance at these concerts increased by fourteen percent.
Our musicians, which came from 24 states and 10 countries, did a great job and left Summit Country with new skills, experiences and tools to help them create successful, rewarding careers in music. While NRO performances play a significant role in enriching the lifestyle for Summit Country residents and 2nd homeowners, it is also interesting to note than about 35 percent of our audience this year was made up of visitors to our county.
Thank you for your support in making the season a success. Your patronage is very important. As you well know, the economy is still quite challenging and the NRO needs your continued support. The staff and board have worked diligently in controlling expenses while we continue to deliver the highest artistic quality possible. In fact, the board is creating a Board Designated Reserve Fund to preserve the financial health of the National Repertory Orchestra. This reserve fund will be available to insure continued delivery of the NRO’s services.
Your contribution right now will help guarantee that the 2011 fiscal year ends financially in the same way the concert season ended—a complete success.
Music Director Carl Topilow is already at work on next year’s programs and we already have some exciting plans for the summer of 2012. As always, if you have any comments or suggestions, we would love to hear from you.
