Overview of the NRO
A non-profit organization, located in Breckenridge, Colorado with the mission to train and mentor student musicians for careers in orchestras. The NRO performs 16+ summertime concerts, provides nationally prominent guest conductors and guest mentors and provides entertainment for over 10,000 attendees. The NRO has a small year round staff and a large temporary staff and intern program during the 8 week concert summer series.
Primary Objective of Position
To position the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) as the premier and prominent summer orchestra in the country.

Strategy/Development:
Develop a sound strategic plan to achieve organizational goals in a challenging economic environment
Creatively execute a tactical plan to fulfill the goals outlined in the strategic plan utilizing permanent, temporary and volunteer resources
Drive funding efforts to achieve current financial needs and enable organizational growth to achieve long-term goals.
Marketing/Communications:
Establish a consistent promotion/message strategy (through strategic plan) that drives all NRO marketing, development, and constituent communications
Provide oversight and strategic direction on all NRO external marketing communications
Establish greater levels of NRO visibility and marketability on a national level to increase funding opportunities
Invest in local civic and business relationships to strengthen the NRO “community citizen” role
Business Management:
Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility in day-to-day operational decision-making and allocation of funds
Motivate, inspire and model a work environment that establishes accountability and promotes high personal, cultural and business values
Maintain high levels of transparent communications with staff, Board of Directors, musicians, constituents, and volunteers
Effectively manage a funding-dependent operating budget to the goals established by the Board
Provide clear reporting that outlines financial progress against goals
Primary Responsibilities
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following:
Develop and execute strategies that achieve long-term vision set by the Board of Directors
Fund Development including sponsorships
Marketing and Communication strategies
Financial administration including budgeting
Contract negotiating
Concert scheduling and operations
Staff and volunteer oversight
Reporting Responsibilities
The ED will report directly to the Board of Directors of the NRO. The ED will be accountable to the broad stakeholder groups invested in supporting the mission of the organization
Requirements for Selection Consideration:
Professional
Experience reporting to a Board of Directors
Fund development with a proven track record
Understanding of all aspects of business including being accountable to a set of goals, objectives and working plans
Personnel management
Basic use of IT

Salary Range:
The compensation for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000
