Job Title: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as Technical Director for the National Repertory Orchestra. Works directly with the Artistic and Operations Director, Executive Director, Music Director and conductors, Personnel Staff, Library Staff, and Recording Engineer. Also works closely with Town of Breckenridge/Riverwalk Center Staff and Breckenridge Music Festival Administration.

Supervises Stage Manager, Production Intern, Recoding Engineer and NRO Work Study musicians (and other staff as assigned). This includes scheduling and work assignments as required or as assigned by NRO Administration. Works with NRO Administration and Riverwalk Center Office to prepare and maintain a written production schedule and a detailed work crew schedule which includes a schedule for opening and closing the Riverwalk Center 7 days a week. Ensures that work crews are scheduled and complete said set-up and strike operations. Maintains weekly production meeting with the NRO operations crew and the Riverwalk Center production staff.

Works with the Orchestra Manager to develop and maintain all room schedules including coordination with percussionists and keyboard players to maintain their practice room schedules. Assists in maintaining housekeeping of the Riverwalk Center during the NRO's occupation of the Riverwalk Center, including offices, library, front of house, back of house, and all practice rooms. Must be in attendance at all rehearsals and performances unless otherwise indicated. Must be in attendance at all production meetings. Responsible for monitoring all equipment and instruments to ensure proper handling and care and reporting any repair needs. At the end of the season, responsible for scheduling pick-up, return and/or storage of instruments and equipment. Responsible for all performance and rehearsal production needs. Responsible for contacting run-out presenters and providing them with stage plots and other production requirements/riders. Responsible for coordinating the transportation of instruments and equipment to all runout concerts.

Works with Artistic staff to establish and coordinate all set-up and strike requirements for all "Community Engagement" activities (as related to music production). Working with NRO staff and event chairs, responsible for identifying and arranging for the production needs for fundraising events. Responsible for the construction and/or maintenance of necessary equipment (such as risers, podium, etc.). Responsible for working with the Riverwalk Production Manager to provide the sound and light needs of all rehearsals and performances, including mics, setting overhead lights and changing gels when needed. Responsible for the storage of merchandise displays, including the return of all sponsor signage, banners, etc. to NRO Administration. Responsible for fulfilling production-related needs of guest artists and sponsors as directed by the NRO Administration or Riverwalk Center Production Manager. This includes the needs of guests conducting Master classes, mock auditions or similar.

Responsible for adhering to the production budget as approved by NRO Administration. Responsible for reviewing all requests for expenditures from production staff and submitting to Artistic and Operations Director for approval. All purchases must be approved by the NRO Administration and Executive Director. Responsible for timely approval of all invoices for payment, which he/she originates, which is directly related to the production department or for which a purchase order was processed. Responsible for maintaining appropriate records and paperwork such as work schedules, rehearsal schedules, purchase orders and equipment orders. Responsible for enforcing and adhering to all OSHA Standards and safety outlines implemented by the Town of Breckenridge staff and/or the NRO Administration. Assist with end of season Riverwalk Center breakdown and storage of all music, instruments and equipment.

Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or Artistic and Operations Director.

Dress: During day, responsible for always wearing appropriate "office casual" attire. Performance dress is all black or black and white combination, close toed shoes required (for safety reasons). At all other times and events, clean and professional attire is required.

Special Qualifications: Previous stage management and administration experience a must. Light carpentry skills desired. Previous experience with light and sound equipment preferred. Must be able to handle direction and requests from many people. Must be able to delegate and manage staff, interns and NRO Work Fellows. Must be able to handle rush periods and work well under pressure. Must be a team player.

Physical Requirements: The job requires lifting boxes and equipment weighting up to 75 lb. and transporting these boxes and equipment by use of a hand truck, if necessary, to the stage or transport truck for runouts. This job also requires driving large vehicles.

Job Title: ORCHESTRA MANAGER

Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as a liaison between the orchestra and NRO Administration. Responsibilities include: preparing the official daily schedule (which includes run-outs, master classes and seminars) for orchestra members in a timely manner; strictly enforcing contractual rules including dress, duties and decorum; securing extra personnel as needed and approved; distribution of musician food certificates; beginning and ending orchestral rehearsals and breaks; taking attendance at rehearsals, performances and master classes; coordinating musician housing assignments and organizing pre-season and end-of-season housing inspections; making official announcements for management and posting important information, including master class assignments and schedule changes at the Riverwalk Center and other rehearsal venues. Responsible for assisting musicians in locating rehearsal time and space for chamber ensembles. Responsible for informing musicians of the schedule for run-outs and tours, making bus rosters, taking head counts on buses and assisting with food and housing requirements for orchestra. Works with Music Director and/or Assistant Conductor on orchestra rotations. Works with Artistic and Operations Director on any recommended changes in the musician contract. Supervises Personnel Intern.

Job Title: STAGE MANAGER

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for proper set up of all rehearsals and performances. Assists in maintaining housekeeping of the Riverwalk Center during the Festival's occupation of the Riverwalk Center, including offices, library, front of house, back of house, and all practice rooms. Supervises Production Intern(s) and NRO Work Study crew as directed. Assume manager-on-duty responsibilities including security of the Riverwalk Center when assigned. Attend all staff and production meetings as directed.

Assist in all production efforts necessary for run-out performances. Assist in set-up operations of workshops, sectionals, seminars and special events. Coordinate and assist in transportation of all production and percussion equipment to run-outs, including orchestral music provided by the Library. Oversee and assist in the monitoring of all equipment and instruments to ensure proper handling and care. Assist Technical Director with Back-of House-Manager duties and stage production requirements.

Responsible for enforcing and adhering to all OSHA standards and safety outlines implemented by the Town of Breckenridge staff and/or festival administration. Assist with beginning of season and end of season production set-up and breakdown including transport of storage equipment, percussion equipment, and Riverwalk Center equipment. Build props and assist with other minor construction projects when asked. Assist in the sound lighting needs of all Festival rehearsals and performances including setting overhead lights and changing gels when needed. Responsible for working the required number of hours to successfully complete all duties.

Job Title: ASSISTANT MUSIC LIBRARIAN

Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as Assistant Music Librarian for the National Repertory Orchestra. Works directly with the Music Librarian, Music Director, guest conductors and NRO Library Intern. Performs duties at the request of Music Librarian which include, but are not limited to, the following: receiving and inventory of new acquisitions and rental music, providing music to string principals and/or conductors for bowing, distributing and collecting music at all services, checking-out music and folders to musicians, determining orchestration needs, timings and movement titles, marking and bowing parts, accurately maintaining library catalog, photocopying practice and extra parts, creating page turn inserts, repairing music, proofreading program pages, inventorying all library and trade holdings. Often serves as principal librarian for pops and/or run-out concerts. May supervise work assignments for Library Fellows and Library Intern as directed by Music Librarian. Assist with end-of-season breakdown and storage of all music and equipment.

Dress: During day, clean and professional “office casual” attire is appropriate. Concert duty dress is all black or black-white combination. For safety reasons, open-toed and/or high-heeled shoes are discouraged in all library work situations.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Music Librarian. Accepts assignments from Music Librarian, Music Director, guest conductors and NRO Administration.

Requirements: Must be present in Breckenridge, CO June 6 - August 10, 2010. Previous music library experience and the ability to read music are required. The assistant music librarian must be even-tempered, able to work well under pressure, capable of multi-tasking, willing to take directions and requests from many people, and able to prioritize tasks, especially during rush periods all while maintaining a positive attitude and working well as a team member. The job requires also requires some manual labor on a regular basis: lifting boxes of music weighting up to 40 lbs, climbing stairs, and acquiring music from overhead shelves.

Job Title: RECORDING ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and maintain sound recording equipment for the NRO; record all performances and dress rehearsals; compile, edit and duplicate performance recording samplers for radio broadcasts, donor promotions, and additional orders; coordinate CD production, ordering, sales, collection of money, and delivery processes with musicians, staff, guest artists, and board; other duties as may be assigned by NRO Administration and/or Music Director. Running multiple recording devices simultaneously is a must to insure no lost performances. Use of a duplicator is highly recommended when fulfilling CD orders. Must be present at ALL performances, dress rehearsals, and special events, (rehearsals and run-outs as directed).

Stage Crew: Attend all staff and production meetings as directed. Assist in all production efforts necessary for run-out performances. Assist in transportation of all production and percussion equipment to run-outs, including orchestral music provided by the Librarian. Job Title: ARTISTIC AND EDUCATION INTERN

Duties and Responsibilities: Works directly with the Artistic and Operations Director, gaining hands-on experience in the areas of Community Engagement, Artistic Planning, Education, and Operations. Duties will include scheduling all outreach and education ensembles, working with ensembles to assist them in youth education outreach events, communicating with sponsorship and other community organizations to coordinate ensembles, working with personnel staff and stage managers in production needs for seminars and education and outreach events; create and maintain time sheets and schedule for chamber music fellows; Attends outreach activities and performances as assigned, assisting with communications and scheduling for seminar and master class guest artists; working with personnel staff and stage managers in production needs for master classes; act as the main artist liaison, assisting with guest artists' production, housing, transportation and hospitality needs; communication with local hotels and resorts to make housing reservations; create and maintain all artist welcome packets and concert event sheets; assist in preparation of program instrumentation/timing sheets and in program proofreading.

Job Title: MARKETING/PR INTERN

Duties and Responsibilities: The Marketing/PR Intern will work in the administrative offices of the NRO, working closely with the Marketing Manager, Executive Director, Marketing Committee, and other administrative staff. Responsibilities will include: assisting with the creation of marketing/publicity materials and ads; updating the website and electronic PR (eNewsletters), maintaining and organizing press clippings; writing and sending press releases for performances and other NRO activities; updating email and fax lists of local and national publicity contacts; aid in creation of audience surveys. The Marketing/PR intern may also assist the Artistic Staff with writing and proofreading of program information and working the performances in a variety of roles, including but not limited to box office duties and audience announcements.

Job Title: DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Duties and Responsibilities: The Development Intern will work in the administrative offices of the NRO, working closely with the Executive Director, Development Director and the Board of Trustees. Primary duties will include: donor and ticket buyer data entry; event support for NRO donor receptions, Gala benefit, and other fundraising events/performances, as well as preparing invitation mailings, tracking responses, and updating attendee lists; researching grant sources and aiding Development Manager to write and compile grant applications; maintain development files. Also includes working the performances in a variety of roles, including but not limited to sponsor signage and audience announcements.

Job Title: ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN

Duties and Responsibilities: This internship is an ideal position for those interested in exploring administrative positions in a music festival/orchestral setting. The Administrative Intern will work in the administrative offices of the NRO, working closely with the Administrative Assistant and other NRO staff. Primary duties will include answering main office phone lines; general filing; tracking expenses and bill payment; concert and event duty; assist other interns and staff with various departmental projects as assigned.
